At Henning Strategies, Ben is, first and foremost, a skilled trial lawyer who brings his vast experience to bear in all situations.  Ben has emerged as a leader in both protecting clients who are subjected to government investigations, and in conducting complex investigations into corporations and individuals.  Ben’s willingness to dive into the histories, practices, and tendencies of other investigators, competitors, prospective business partners, and opposing parties gives his clients a valuable advantage both in the courtroom and in the boardroom.

In all cases, Ben aims to outwork and out-prepare the opponent with the direct input and assistance of his clients.  In Ben’s view, each case is the most important case his clients have ever had; therefore, each case deserves his highest level of effort and performance.

Outside of court, Ben has successfully completed investigations for a variety of organizations, using his dogged investigatory approach to more effectively question witnesses, gather intelligence, and uncover the truth. Ben also represents clients who find themselves subjected to investigations conducted by the IRS, FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Attorney General’s Office, Office of Campaign and Political Finance, District Attorney’s Offices, and various administrative/employment review boards.

Over a decade ago as an Assistant District Attorney, Ben began building a reputation for novel approaches to complex problems. From the Gun Prosecution Task Force, to the Boston Municipal Court, to the Unsolved Shooting Initiative, Ben was repeatedly selected to supervise, train, and lead prosecutors and other law enforcement members on case strategy, courtroom advocacy, and investigatory techniques. As a trial attorney, Ben has prevailed at trial in homicide cases, felony assault cases, and domestic violence cases, as both a prosecutor and defender.

Ben specializes in advising clients who find themselves at the intersection of divorce, abuse prevention, and criminal proceedings. He has gained victories for clients at clerk-magistrate’s hearings, and helped advocate for crime victims with police, prosecutors, and courts. His career is marked by innovation, discretion, and results.

Ben has appeared regularly as a legal analyst on television for WCVB in Boston, and consulted for the Netflix documentary “This is a Robbery” about the Isabella Stewart Gardner heist.
